What the heck is wrong with all you helmet guys? I've never come close to hitting my head on ANY trick I've tried. Every time I've worn a helmet (Daytona), it messes up my balance and I end up screwing up and getting hurt. Yeah, I know I got hurt yesterday, but that was my back, not my head.
Tell you what, I'll keep trying it, and if I split my skull or become a vegetable, I'll say you were right. :smashfreakB:
(I'm saying this all tongue-in-cheek)
What the heck is wrong with you non-helmet guys? You're throwing a 300lb piece of solid machinery above your head, and basically praying that it's going to land to the right, or the left, of your skull every single time it comes down without your feet in the tray ...
So, let's say you have a 0.5% chance of getting hit on the head ... that's not very high, right? But that's only 200 missed attempts before skull fills up with saltwater, and we have another "RIP" thread here on the X.
But looking cool, and doing a backfilp without a helmet is more important than living I guess.
Dude anything new is going to throw your balance off until you get used it it. New bars, new grips, underpadding, different throttle lever, new turn plate, new handlepole, and the list goes on ... that's why you never see anyone winning a freeride/freestyle comp on someone else's ski.
Put a 2lb bike helmet on, and if your neck cant hold up the extra weight ... you could put a 1,200cc engine in a 40lb hull, and you're still not going to be strong enough to get that thing around.
