Might as well start the Roid Build Thread

I was hoping to be farther along by now, but that’s mostly my lazy ass and the lack of a few last minute tools, supplies and surprises.

Picked up the hull from the airport and got it home in the crate. Really couldn’t be happier. Exactly what I was hoping for. Hybrid layup with full carbon hood.

I ordered a mat kit from Eric as well. I already have an Xscream XS900rr, carbon lay down pipe with water box (I was told Superfreak made it), Thrust billet 155 setback may pump with 83mm hub, Skat Trak trim, RRP CBX pole with steering and whatnot...all the parts.

The pole was blue, so I sold that and bought a black one. (Not pictured, still in the box).

Fit the pole, I like the way it’s gonna work.

Flipped the hull and realized the work needed to fit the pump. Let’s just say Eric and team designed a pump tunnel that is big enough for any pump and kind of a blank canvas. You figure out what’s best for your setup...not that they weren’t helpful. So now I’ve sanded that flat, but as you can see, a sanded flat surface leaves the bottom half of the pump about 3/8” from sealing. I’m currently building up an area for the pump to seal. 6DF1CAE7-708A-430B-9B8C-6B1BF1EE3E17.jpegF93ECDDA-D04F-45DD-84B3-D0CE66B07F41.jpegB2CD88F1-9B2B-458F-85C6-45EE02552E2A.jpeg

Question, you think I can silicone the pump to the side of the OEM 155 pump seal as shown, or should I build a flat area for the pump seal to properly seal against?

Take the extra steps to do it correctly now and you won’t have to screw with it later.Nice ski,by the way!

I fill everything in, and then use a grinder with a large disc to sand/grind flat until the pump sits/seals perfect. It is time consuming though.

You want zero issues, cavitation etc. for your ski to perform.
