YAKIMA - A man who was run over by a ski boat in the Yakima River canyon two weeks ago has died of his injuries.
Matthew S. Jordan, 25, of Yakima, never regained conciousness before he he died Friday at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, hospital officials said.
Jordan became separated from his personal watercraft and was hit by the propeller of a ski boat on July 2 in the Roza recreation area north of Yakima.
The boat driver, Jose Jesus Heredia Barajas, 33, was charged last week with assault by watercraft and operating a boat while intoxicated. It was not immediately clear whether a more serious charge will be filed as a result of Jordan's death.
I am trying to find out some more details on this. This happened a couple of hours from me. The prop cut his arm off when it happened. Now he's dead.
Be careful out there.
