Hey,

I may have a Work project that is being installed in Los Banos (north of Fresno??) in July. It looks to be about 50 miles in land from Santa Cruz?? Does anyone live near here that is keen to go for a ride sometime?? Or can anyone suggest where to ride near here? I will have my ski with me as we are bringing a container of gear with us and I will probably stay till the 2010 surf slam in Oregon.

Cheers

I live in Fresno and do a lot of riding up in the foothills about 40 minutes NE of Fresno. It's downstream from a hydro plant and has rapids to jump depending on the day. It's the best flat water riding that I've found anywhere. Get a hold of me if you don't mind driving a bit.

Dude, or should I say 'mate' that is so cool you are coming all the way from NZ. Glad you see some of CA and the USA. Don't expect 'too much' but you might like it. Los Banos is NOT a good representation of CA. Be sure to take 'weekend' trips to explore some nearby areas like San Francisco, Pismo Beach, Santa Cruz, etc. I'm sure you can use google maps. BE SURE, BE SURE to go to Yosemite National Park if you like nature at all. I heard NZ is beautiful, at least maybe Yosemite can get close.

For riding, a few of us ride at Anderson Lake near Morgan Hill, CA. There are some other lakes like chris said.

Are you going to have your own car and everything? Just curious, what kind of job are you doing in los banos?

Yes We are going to buy a cheap pickup so I will be able to use it after hours. A customer of mine has sold a cardboard drum fabricating plant to someone in los banos. So I will have lots of desiging/ fabricating time between now and July when we in stall it.

Thanks Guys I will keep in touch and let you know how we get on and when I will be there.

Cheers
