The 650 doesn't have enough power to get you ourt of the hole quickly with that steep of a leading edge pitch (14.5).

Like riding a bike, and trying to start out from a standstill in the highest (fast speed) gear - can't hardly get it going.

That's why most all impellers are the variable pitch kind these days (12/17 for example), they give you the best of both worlds, quick start, and a higher top end.

a few of the older super camber impellers worked well on the 650 boats too, and are pretty much DIRT cheap these days.

or just poney up and spend the $$$ on a custom pitched skat swirl, or solas concord from Impros.

I bit the bullet and did this a few years ago, and I have been VERY happy with it.

when you buy an impeller at works well for a few years, it isnt expensive given the time frame.
