It doesn't take up more space than a stock electrical system, so it wouldn't be any different than a regular setup.
I got some pics in my buildup thread (though I run a B-Pipe).
Yeah, I had it mounted that way last year. I changed it this year - in retrospect, I hated mounting it on the tank. Lots of wiring to go back and forth. It looks much cleaner to just have everything on one plate.
Oh yeah, if anyone wants that tank mounting bracket, I'll sell it for cheap.
this is how we do it around here but it is run with a b-pipe, not sure how much space that dry pipe takes up but i would imagine that only the coils may be in the way. i thought that the instructions said to mount the coils away from the brain by 12" but space can be limited in the hull and i see most people with everything mounted on the same plate. i may be wrong about that though.
The MSD instructions say six inches minimum. If you mount the coils on one end, and the brain on the other end of the plate, you're good (that's what I got). I Have no interference issues.
sweet, i guess that helps with mounting options as for room, did you make your mounting plate or is there one that msd sells? we haven't had interference either although we had a brain go out on us so we decided to move the coils as far as possible just in case that had anything to do with it.
The plate came with my system, and I assume it's an MSD plate - just because it's very clean cut, with the perfect bolt spacing everywhere.
They're not hard to make yourself, though.
hmmm i don't think that my buddies came with a plate and he made his own the first time around, mind you it was missing the trigger plate as well, what a great deal he got!!! pay all that money and riva/msd never made it right. they did replace it though once it stopped working so that was cool.
