Learning to kitesurf

so ive been trying to learn to kitesurf...got two pretty good sessions in the last two days..solid waves and 25+knots of wind this was my fifth time i think and second time in the surf...imagine having something thats 5times as powerful as your jetski attached to your waist that you arnt very good at controlling...its really fun but is pretty difficult especially in the surf..here is some pics from yesterday..there was allot of struggling going on between the shots of me riding to say the least haha..the hardest part is not getting sucked downwind..it would be a good sport for you florida guys cause you guys have way better conditions for it..the picture of me falling there was actually a pretty savage beating..getting dragged through knee deep water isnt very fun..there was some spectacular crashes but my buddy missed most of them

more consistent wind..this time of year here its only good a couple times a month if that...its pretty big in florida..i think on the coast more than the gulf although i do remember u saying allot of guys do it where u live

yep, lots do it here. the problem in the gulf is 90% of our waves are wind waves. So, we're riding in what might be better kite surfing conditions.

sick pictures man. I live in Alaska so its too cold but I have a redline 132 board. It isnt a "wake surfboard" like yours is. Here's my board.

anyways, the one time i flew my kite in Minnesota, i was amazed at how powerful it is. Since I haven't used it in 9 months though, i need to watch some more kite surfing instructional videos to get the hang of everything. I plan on eventually getting big into it in Juneau though!

That looks like such a cool sport. Need to pair it up with a powered-board so you can go upwind and start over.
