Hey guys, I have a quick question about the lanyard switch on my superjet. I was wondering whether I should leave the lanyard attached when it is not in use, or if I should take it off?
Pull it off so it is unable to short out and start the ski. I have seen Yamaha skis that just randomly start cranking over. I started pulling mine off when my kids started crawling over my ski like monkey bars. My son loves starting it and would show his friends how to do it. Lol.
Also keeps the spring inside from wearing out if that matters at all. Id take it off. Definitely unplug the battery though. a battery that's connected will drain faster then one that's disconnected
Leaving it clipped in will save the rubber boot of the lanyard switch. But like D-Roc says, skis can and have randomly started. Mine decided to do that a few years ago at Daytona and it fried my solenoid.
