Kicktail or no?

I have some extra underpadding and thought i might smooth it into a kicktail just for the hell of it. I stood in the tray with the extra padding on the back and it kinda kept me leaning forward a bit and was nice and soft. What do you guys think?

Where are the footholds?

Its a 550... id prefer to save the money for a sj. Im just repainting this ski and returfing aswell as fixing a few issues so i can ride it untill i find the right sj, and then so friends can ride with me.

I have had a kick tail on all my ski's and love it.

did it make turfing harder? i would think it would make an awkward angle at the very back to turf around

I used to have a kicktail on my Kawi. I liked it a lot. The only 'problem' I ran into was that I had to buy a longer rear bow eye to compensate for the extra padding. I bought my kicktail from Hydroturf, it was shaped like a little ramp. But I suppose forming your own would work as well.

depends on riding style and what you want to do with it.

My SJ, dont need it, freestyle setup.

SXR - Race setup, cannot ride an SXR without one now!!!!!!!!!

I just realized i covered my rear bow eye!
I never had a rear bow eye, just the hole. I need to order a new one for the front and rear i suppose.

Well i glued and shaped mine today, it feels nice. Keeps me a bit more forward and way softer on my back foot

Before sanding, just glued and cut with a heated razor to get the basic shape:

How long should i let the contact cement dry before actually riding? My next off day is friday and id like to ride, but i still need to turf, paint my hood, and put the pole back on. If i can get the turf done tommorrow and thursday before work, ill just leave the hood how it is and just take it back home after i ride (only problem is i have no registration # or sticker)
