Super Jet Is this a good price for a SuperJet?

Ive been trying to purchase a standup jetski, havnt owned one since 2002, and it was a kawi, I want a superjet now. Heres the one im looking at, does this sound like a good deal?

1994 yamaha superjet looking to sell/ trade for a dirtbike.

Ski runs great and has no problems

new/aftermarket parts include:

Ride plate
Impeller
Scoop grate
Bucshot carb
0 degree handle bars
Finger throttle
2 500 gallon bilge pump with finger switch
Custom pole made of aluminum ( won't crack)
New battery

Like I said ski runs perfect and needs nothing

The guy wants 1800 dollars with no trailer. What should I look for before purchasing? Like compression test, etc. Also im in florida, so i know jetskis go for diffrent amounts in diffrent states.

thanks- Matthew

I hope there are more mods in it for that price.

Being a 94 it should have a 701 which is good.
What pipe, compression, how does it run on the water, was it flushed and cleaned well after every salt water bath, ...........?

I'm in Rochester, NY where superjets are hard to find, and I still think that price is high, especially if it doesn't have a head, pipe and ignition. It's a squarenose, so the price will be lower than a roundnose...but there are better deals currently listed on this very site, at least 1 of them in Florida. I can't vouch for the sellers, though. You've got to do some searching to find the decent deals and get a feel for prices.

That ski also has the 61x case (if original 701 motor) so it's not quite as desireable for mods as the '96+ engines. I've also heard that the buckshot carbs aren't the ideal setup for freestyle and can be hard to tune, but I have no idea...maybe someone else can chime in on that.

Finally, some of those other mods listed could be good or bad, depending on what they are. I.e, what brand / pitch is the impeller, etc.

Thanks for the replys thus far. I thought the price might be a little high. And I know the model changed in 96, and thats what I was looking for originaly. Maybe I will consider it if hes willing to drop his price alot. I know the KBB is only 950, but im pretty sure KBB is irrelevent alot of times.

Take your time looking for a ski. If you can, read and get a little more familiar with upgrades and prices here. Maybe get lucky and find a ski from a member here on the X. And don't hesitate to ask about anything you see.

I ended up buying it. Or actualy trading my dirtbike for it, and he included a like new trailer. It looks clean, and compression was 160 in both cyclenders. He started it up and it sounded good, I guess ill see how it realy runs this weekend.

Heres a pic, not sure if its gonna load or not:

It ran great. Its as fast as my buddys 2 day old sxr800 he just bought brand new.

I learnt not to flush it without the engine running though, the hard way.
