I found this very useful thread about ride plates. So I ended up with a traction vent.

I have not found a similar post about intake grates. There are as many more more options for intake grates than ride plates it would seem, and the differences are a bit less obvious... Anyone wish to comment about these and other options?

I've been looking for an intake. I would be looking used because unfortunately that is what I can afford. I am sure that this could help both used and new buyers if enough people comment. I'm sure if there was a post like the ride plate one it would help some people.

I have been looking at the works 201 and the 205 and am not really sure the difference. The dealer sites describe them pretty much the same except the 205 is "less aggressive" than the 201.

The works 201 and 205 seem to sell used about $125, while there are other options such as a very similar looking R&D (not the aquavein listed above, but one that looks like the 201 and 205) that are commonly about $90 shipped. Is the 201/205 30% better?

I have a mostly stock ski that is working it's way to a limited set up. I ride buoys, surf when available and try for some flatwater stuff but haven't been very successful.
