I didnt replace the base on the last two, been running fine since. You can always pressure test or leak test by putting rubber between carbs n intake and head pipe n manifold. Then pump pulse fitting to ten psi and fix a drink. See if it hold for a while.

Sweet. Also noticed there is a wire running to Cdi box. I am assuming its a temp gauge. Not sure but my question is when installing the new head will I need to remove this or install. Also a msd enhancer is going in as well. I'm sure it all plugs into some where in there. Have instructions but haven't read. Still in unbolting stage. Fever!!

Just make sure you chase the threads. If not than the studs will be difficult to seat all the way. Then you run the possibility of boogering up a stud.

Use two nuts jammed together instead of stud tool which can damage threads when it slips. Anti seize studs into case and seal open space area around stud with silicon on cylinder top side.
