How to tell what motor you have!

I bought a 96 superjet this summer, that was modded out. I still don't even know what motor I am running. The guy I bought it from knew nothing about the ski history as he bought it from someone who raced it. The ski had a yellow number sticker (which means expert - please correct me if I am wrong). I would like to find out what motor I have in it. It has:

62t CASE (dual carb - with protect intake)

61X Cycl. (with protec rec head that suppose to read 180 psi but reads 150 psi on both cycl. -- i am assuming there has been some porting done)

I measured the pistons to be around 82mm (there wasn't a number on the top of the pistons - just said F and an arrow pointing to the exhaust)

I do not know what stroker it is. How do you measure this?

The motor has a protect head that would get 150 psi of compression. The internal cycl. look to be ok, and the motor seemed to hit pretty good. Just wanting to know what is under the hood!! any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thanks!

To measure the stroke ... just measure the stroke. If the piston is right at the top of the cylinder then measure the distance from the top of the piston to the top of the cylinder when the piston is at BDC. And take some good pictures of the exhaust ports and if you can mesure them. Then post them here. We can tell you if and how much it has been ported.

don't laugh but what does BDC mean? i also forgot to mention "X36" is engraved in the bottom side of the cycl. didn't know if that could mean something?

Sorry.. It means Bottom Dead Center... Where the piston is at the very bottom of it's stroke. That would be your stroke from TDB Top Dead Center to BDC. And the porting can be measured by measuring the size (width and height) and distance from the top of the cylinder that the exhaust port is... This will only give you an estimate of how and how much it was ported.
