Super Jet How much does your engine shake?

My 97 760 super jet seems to have a good amount of engine vibration. The vibration is right off idle and when coming down through the same rpms off a high rev. I just installed all new "couch" motor mounts, exhaust couplers, and rubber pipe mounts. Everything is tight.

Do most of these engines have a hard vibration down low? The spark plug boots turn into a blur. This is out of the water and I cant remember if it does this while in the water and a load is on the pump.

My 760 shakes way more than my SS865. I have replaced the engine mounts a couple times now, this time with the couch mounts and I am starting to wonder if it's the rough shake that is really causing the failures.

My 2004 all stock SJ has nothing wrong with it and the whole boat vibrates just off idle. My buddy's blaster had some mods and was exactly the same. Another friend with a 760 blaster, same deal.

Best solution I know is to hold it wide open all the time!

It's a 2-cylinder inline engine with a fairly long crank. It's going to shake, nothing to be done about it.
Seadoo eventually realized that and put counter-balancers on their motors.

I would quesion alignment .the spark plugs turn to a blur?? this seems excessive to me . couch motor mounts are actually a bit taller than stock sj mounts .

I think it's a bit of what Matt said and some funky harmonics ( if that is the right term) at a certain rpm.... I just goof with my low screws or just bump the idle up or down till I lose the shake.
It can't be good for the mounts or pipe couplers not to mention the drive coupler.

add a drypipe into the equation and then it really shakes, mine is pretty bad at idle, but right off idle and above its pretty smooth.

like rotax said just up the idle a tiny bit til it smooths out...
