The people using IE are just the people that don't realize there is something better. I have yet to talk to one person that prefers IE over firefox. they are just to lazy to switch.
I finally got switched over to Ubuntu and running Firefox, man its a good feeling being MS free. Its a little confusing getting things going, but so worth it.
I would think about switching. I'm not a computer techie guy though so i'm worried about making the switch. Also do all of the regular windows programs work on it? Like office and stuff like that?
It doesn't use 'regular windows programs'. It uses Linux versions.
However, Ubuntu has OpenOffice, GIMP, Firefox, etc all included, no need to install them.
I'd suggest download the .iso and burn a CD, then boot from the CD. It won't touch your hard drive but will load Ubuntu into memory and you can try it out. It'll be slower than if it were actually installed since it has to read stuff off the CD, but it's good for trying it out.
