No, Mozilla was first, Firefox was an improved version built from the ground up years ago.
http://www.mozilla.org/products/mozilla1.x/ Mozilla was the old Netscape from years ago that included Composer and a couple other programs I think. FF was created to get away from that package.

I use 2. Explorer and .......well, the icon says Mozilla Firefox.
