I have a 97 superjet 700 and not sure what plugs to use,the ski came with BR7HS in it but there is a sticker on the engine with B7HS,and from what i can see most people on this site say to use BR8ES,just wondering can anyone tell me anything about what plug is the best

I assume your ski is fairly stock?

BR8ES runs a little cooler than the BR7ES or B7HS. The number indicates the "heat range", the lower the hotter and the higher the cooler. Most importantly, the BR8ES has a longer threaded shank than the others with the suffix "HS". I think the ES means "E"xtended or something. It is commonly used in aftermarket cylinder heads and will not work if you have a stock head.

The "R" in BR7HS simply means it is a resistor plug which helps to cut back on EMI. You should be good running either BR7HS or B7HS.

Google some info on spark plugs and you should be able to find some more accurate info.

The stock plug is a B7HS, the R in BR7HS means it's a resister type plug that won't cause distortion in radio waves inclose proximity to where you are riding...like that will ever happen.

The BR8ES plug has longer threads and is used in aftermarket heads. If installed in a stock head it will protrude into the cylinder and make contact with the top of the piston and do some real damage.

The idea is to cut down on RFI that could mess with the ignition itself (a concern in actual digital ignitions) or water injection setups.

The ES plug isn't long enough to touch the top of the piston when installed in a stock head.

Buddy of ours has a stock Blaster and a stock SXR. He couldn't figure out why neither ski was running right.
Turns out that he put the short plugs in the SXR and the long plugs in the Blaster.
No damage done.
