I just wanted to let people know about the crappy service these guys have

I ordered a few small parts that they told me they had in stock.
i was like, i know they are small but i need them to finish my rebuild by the weekend can you do that.
they were like sure no trouble,
so then on a thursday ( the day i expected the parts) they are like " whe don't have all the parts but have 2 of them. do you still want just those?"

i said" yeah cool" and they said they will ship that afternoon, one week ago today.
well it's now next thursday and i don't have them so i call on it. Low and behold when i call, i get the same story, oh we don't have all the parts but have 2 do you want them? i was like
we had this talk last week and you assured me they were on the way

i asked then to have them shipped over night or something and split the cost with me. he said NO WAY, i asked then for usps so i could maybe still get them this weekend,( hell i even got some parts form san bernadino california from an auction i won on ebay tuesday this week already). His response was call me tomorrow and give me your shipping info, I told him i coud not call tomorrow and then he told me to go to yamaha and get them then and hung up

wtf

I understand your point about a very low dollar order but the parts were very important to you.. your story is true..

I've known Dan for years.. I just talked to him and he is sorry about the parts that didn't make it to you.. he was trying to get you your stuff.. a mistake was made and they did lose your address and they did say they had somethings as it turned out they couldnt find.. but found some of them..

Today He was in his car and couldnt take your info down again to get some of the stuff shipped tomorrow and YOU said you couldnt call him tomorrow, also he couldnt overnight it today as you wanted (he was out of the office/warehouse) he would have took a $20.00 loss to keep you happy..I know him.. He did spend quite a bit of time looking for your parts also..

Today on the phone.. he was at the point of.. well this guy wants it overnight, (I cant do that I'm on the road) he cant call me tomorrow. (so i cant ship it) and said.. call yamaha..and hung up rather than getting chewed out somemore and waiting outside of a auction rather than looking for ski's..

right now they are doing a complete revamp on thier inventory and have stuff in boxes while they are labeling shelves and entering data into computers.. not a excuse just a fact.. they are trying to get finished as soon as they can.. its taking longer than they thought it would.. This warehouse is big enough to have a supercross inside..

I have dealt with dan for years (he always gets the 1st call from me) and if he says he has something it is at my house they next day..

wow the typing was bad, when i am in a hurry it seems i have worse typing than when i am not
eek let me go back up there and fix that mess

he didn't make that mistake once but two times i was told they are on the way. then today, he seemed to totally forget talking to me last week all together. he called me to say, he coud only find 2 of 3 pieces did i still want them.

yes i did ask him once to over night it he said no. fine , that is understandable it's not cheap. i said then how about usps then, as they deliver on saturday. that way i still had a chance to get it here this weekend. and when i come home form my little weekend excursion it would be waiting for me on sunday. still he would not. ups ground only

the fact that we spoke last thursday and then again had the same exact conversation today shows what is important to him. hell 2 times he told me it was on the way already, does he even deserve a 3rd shot????????

i don't expect him to take a loss on parts, but i would expect that if some one screws up on the same order 2 times then it is up to them to retain the customers business, not mine.
he did ask me to call tomorrow with my shipping addie again, but i am going out of town and can't ( he alrady got it form me 2 times anyhow). he would not even let me finish to explain that to him. just got rude and said get it from a dealer and hung up.
just rude. and if that is how he treats someone spending a few bux, forget buying something that has cost like 62t cases or something.

but all in all i learned two leasons with this,
1. who to go to for used parts
M&M ,
2. who would have thought i could make it myself.

He even went so far as to give me some story about how he was taking a loss cuz he had to pay his guy $15 an hour to go out and pull those parts

wtf?????? that is your business man. 3 screws and a hook and a mtal plate ( i hope his guy did not take an hour to get them off).. i made these parts form aluminum from scratch in less than 2 hours today including drive time. come on

Here is an example of great cusotmer service:
i got a gasket kit from paul, he slipped and sent a 61x not 62 t set, i called and he put the ones i did not have in the mail that day. no questions, no excuse ,just an appology and action. and he will continue to get my money.

just little pieces, a bungee hook for the gas tank bungee and a throttle cable plate but things kinda needed to get out on the water for the first time this year and break in my ski after a full rebuild this winter

needless to say i was a little anxious to get them even though they were small ticket pieces

well i made a mistake and let mitch know that i needed a start/stop pig tail for a SJ (the short one) bad and I paid $48.00.. then got a long wave runner one shipped (it works but its not a SJ one).. Penguin has it now (I owed it to him and couldnt find mine) I knew what I was paying and bought it anyways.

Bottom line is EVERYONE has their days.. you cant make everyone happy everytime.. unless someone flat rips you off and wont make good there is no need to send out the close your door/ass kicking notes.. from what I have seen there is very few people to avoid for anything.. If people act like jerks, rude, rip offs they dont last.. the word spreds fast.. both these guys have been around for 10+ years..That cant be by treating people bad.. It was just one of those days.. end

There is a Kawi dealer near by me, the guy is a total dick, he acts like your taking up his time asking him about parts/skis/bikes/ etc... Even when you buy something you get a "thanks" but then its followed by a get the **** out of my shop asshole kinda personality. Everyone I talk to doesn't like going to this shop, his hours suck and is a dick to everyone... Yet he has been around for years....

My ordering is coming only from Zig, everyone online likes him, he has always gone out of his way for me, as well as others. He sent a wrong part, and shipped out the correct part right away, didn't even ask for the wrong part back. But being that he is a good guy, I felt I could at least do him the favor and spring for a cheap shipping charge and send it back. If Zig doesn't have it, then I look else where... But I have never had any "GOOD" luck at local shops/dealers.... Only "ok" and "bad"...

And Just to come back in from hijacking the thread, I don't think that guy should have hung up on you. Thats total BS, When I get a client who is unhappy, I get hung up on, not them. I am here for you, not the otherway around, your paying MY bills! Sorry, I know some days can be bad, but gotta tuff it out and keep clients/customers happy. Thats your meal ticket!

I have dealt with Robert a couple of times - nothing exceptional, but a good, straight up guy to deal with - for me.
Your milage may vary.

Unfortunately a lot of people involved in the used parts and/or ski repair business used to be racers and still have that "racers" (I'm all that and you're not) attitude when it comes to their business.

It's 50/50 when it comes to some of these shops. Some of these guys are bi-polar and you may be catching them on a bad week. I have had good service in the past from Havasu Cycle but my next order could easily be an experience like yours. Don't worry about it too much……just know these companies exist and order from them only when it is absolutely necessary.

Selling all X2 and 650 parts - message me!
I have dealt with Havasu on many occasions and never had a problem with them. I believe the story of this negative is an isolated event.
Zigler is excellent.
Surfjetlouie is excellent.
I used to deal many years ago with a great guy in Mesa AZ at a place called Lookout Performance. His name was Jay. Mainly Banshee engines, but did Jet Ski engines as well. Always straightforward and true.
I do not deal with the dealer unless I absolutely have to. I go in with the P/N I need and usually get the "how did you get the part number" look. Then I inwardly laugh and say to myself "duh" and think about the excellent online parts catalog Kawasaki has. Aside from Maxima Super M and spark plugs, I don't give the dealer the time of day.
People have to understand they are dealing with other people. That dealer in Minnesota is probably in business for some other reason in spite of himself. Keep up the great communications guys!
