Has anyone made a kick-pad and lifters?

I been thinking what i could use to make a kick pad/tail, and to make some lifters

Hydro turf use to sell foam blocks that u could cut on the table saw

well the resonim asking is casue i just hit my budget.. so i have maybe 5 dollars and lifters and a kickpad is what i need i just dont know what i can use

you need some scraps of turf....glue them together in a stairstep method..then sand it to a nice smooth curve...


we have made a bunch!

Yep, I used layers of turf once. Just built up a pyramid and then layed my final layer overtop so it looked clean.

for lifters you can either use hockey pucks......


or, if you want to learn some glassing skills you can make holds like I did in this fx-1

yeah id get some kickers ifi was gonna do that this is a race ski and i dont think they allow footholds

I too am looking for ideas on lifters for a race ski. It currently has the smooth Hydro-Turf sides (SXR). I thought about the cheapo Hydro Turf lifter blocks, but I don't trust using just glue to install them. How/what do you guys recommend to install these things so they don't rip off? Thanks!

drill some holes on both sides of the lifter and screw them in with some flat screws so they dont poke out and before you screw them in put glue on them

I had hydroturf lifter blocks on my superjet for the first season. I used Dap Contact Cement to adhere them because I didnt trust the supplied adhesive. Followed the directions on the can and applied them straight to the stock (clean) turf and they lasted all season. When I went to remove them I pulled so hard it took the turf with it.

i did the same thing with my superjet, picked up those hydro turf lifter bocks doubed them up and shaped them and used DAP contact cement ... i hope they get me thru the year until i can do foot holds this winter. i dont have a pic yet maybe tommorrow.
