Guess That Part!?

I have been trying to improve the handling of my Kaw 650SX. I noticed that the steering nozzle looked like it was missing parts. It appears to be some kind of "drop nozzle". I'm pretty new to the stand-up world and was wondering what this thing is. I'm sure it is missing some parts. I'm going to attempt to replace it with a 750 trim nozzle.

Anybody know?

The ski it came off of has a yellow cable run from the left handlebar to below the steering cable outlet. The cable is completely frozen with rust. Why would somebody put this on a stand-up?

Is this the reason my ski handles so poorly?

Ok I will interject some wisdom here, its called a Rooster Shooter and it is missing parts. There is another piece which redirects the water into a high velocity stream much like the stock yamahas have but much bigger and stronger. It is strong enough to knock an unsuspecting rider off.I have one on one of my TS 650's.Does the cable look familar lol.

That's it! What is it's purpose? To raise the nose?

it's designed to make people hate jet skiers even more, cause that's whats gonna happen by using such a ridiculous item....

it's to spray people, like he said... pretty unsafe if it hits as hard as he says...

WeDoSeaDoo is the winner of today's episode of Guess That Part!

Thanks for the info, I knew somebody would know what this thing is.

I can't belive that it really is simply to shoot a powerful stream of high velocity water at other crafts/people. Sounds like a good way to blow someone's eardrum out or cause an accident. I think I'll throw it in the trash.

I found a pic of the whole assembly as well as an old ad.

Here's a kind of funny thread where the finer points of rooster shooting is being discussed... http://www.pwctoday.com/showthread.php?t=44395

If you look at the ad closely you can see that they are promoting shooting people with the water stream! it says "Get one before someone else gets you". It also says you can use it to "ward off danger" so I guess it makes sense.

I wonder how much their product liability insurance was? Are these still made?
