Well I'm probably going to open myself up here for some abuse. And I know its been brought up several times, But here I go. I can not decide which way to go with this. I read the following link:http://www.x-h2o.com/threads/28190
But I'm still unsure of whether to re-foam or not. Ski is strictly for flatwater, In the local lake's. I have the rear all sealed up,, right rear side reinforced, and have installed drains.
I bought 4lb foam to re foam with, but then I considerer going with the polystyrene board and packing it in there as a couple of others have with there builds. Then after its all packed in and glassed up just pour foam in behind the F/H's. This is by far my favorite option.
Then this is where I get myself in trouble..... If I go no foam I save a bit of weight, and as we all now on a Flatwater boat this is kind of a benifit. I figure I would reinforce the tray area in front of the pump area where there is little support. This I can do. I geuss what I am most leary about is how strong the sides would be, this more so than it sinking. Of course crack a side and that could lead to it sinking I suppose.LOL.
So, if anyone that has done this, or anyone who has been around this concept could chime in and help me get myself out of this rut/dilema. I would appreciate it. I figure I know the answer that most will give, but that is what is so wonderfull about this forum, it's a great way to bounce ideas off of everybody that may have already gone thru a situation such as your own.
Thanks to all.
