Looking to see if any one want to go riding in west MI today or tomorrow? Thinking about the grand river because its not frozen. any ideas or thoughts, I am up for what ever.

I wont do the river.. any idea what the water temps are like? I bet green lake is open. it's pretty shallow too so it should warm up quick

the river is too shallow to really do anything in other than just ride around..not to mention it smells like crap..and is full of crap

I usually dont do the river but I dont know what my other options r. I was just looking to ride for an hour or so and not get wet.

I want to water test my ski before I head down south in a couple weeks.

I'm thinking Green lake may be the best bet for that...not 100% sure though.

I have a wetsuit.. but 36 is too damn cold.

I dont think I would be out in only a wetsuit, you need a drysuit to go out in these conditions.

I'd usually be down for it. But i sold the drysuit. i will have ot wait a few more weeks then hit the big lake for some wave action.

green lake is uaually one of thrst to unthaw...while you're out there check gun lake as well...

If the temps are agree able I'm down for a short ride. I dont have to get wet to cruise.

if we go, you should come up just to ride a round for a bit.. I have a spare Jet Pilot 3mm 2 peice suit in Med, maybe it'd fit you

i have a few suits myself...but the ski is in pieces...so i wouldn't have anything to ride. I am going to build the ski tomorrow and maybe go out on earthday(19th). I have a 3/2 oneil surf suit, two piece slippery, and a shorty. I just need to get some warm booties and a hood sock...then i'll ride. But i can't spend all my $$ on warm weather stuff when i am leaving for chicken bone in a few weeks. I won't have any $$ for my rn build...damn...looks like i need another student loan.:brap:

we would have better luck getting across green lake on a snowmobile than a jetski. most of its still frozen. we could ride around the very edge of the lake but thats it. only about 20 to 50 ft is water. I did not even go out to Gun, its going to be forzen too. So that kind of sucks.

I would still like to get out for a short ride so I am thinking the grand river again. I know it sucks and its dirty and stinky and not ideal but its all we got. let me know if anyone interested. Thinking sunday around 2.

little paw paw lake is ususally the first lake in my area to thaw. Last week it had 50-80ft open. I'll check it later today/tonight. I am going to save my time and $$ for surf ridin this season...:439:

Cant wait for the big lake to open up. any one know if there is a surf reports for lake MI? How do you know when the waves r big?
