Gas cap mod

Anyone here ever installed aftermarket gas cap and filler neck on a 2014 super jet. I just looked at my stock set up and noticed that there are no screws on the exterior of the filler neck that mount it to the hull as there always has been on Older superjets. It looks as though maybe they just glued the filler neck to the hull?

Look up the parts fische and see how it is installed...I doubt it's just glued on, probably a large plastic nut that screws on biller neck and tightens up against hull...Hope that makes sense

Yeah that makes sense and would be really nice. If it's epoxied to the hull, it's really going to suck to remove. Idk why they have to change things...

Seadoo uses the big plastic nut as well. I haven't had any epoxied yet, just a rubber seal.

Are you changing colors or replacing it with a billet unit?

Ok sweet thanks! Yeah I'm going billet because I have an ADA cap and it doesn't seal to the stock filler neck so I have to get ADA Billet neck as well

My ADA cap seems to work just fine. Been using it for several rides.

Yea lol look under the cap bro. The plastic filler neck does not bump in to the rubber gasket on the cap. Not even close. I rode mine for a year before noticing... Wasn't until I was draining sand and salt water cleansing my ski in the grass the other day and noticed gas running out from under the. The Gets tight sure but only because it runs out of threads. I pulled the cap off the

And boom, sand in the filler neck sand in the tank... Which also means some salt water in there too. What a mess. You're gonna want the billet neck to match...

Curious if you saw the notes on Ada's website about the gas caps...might be all U need if u didn't

Hmm.. Maybe that will work but idk. I'm pretty sure 2014 necks are different because the caps are. Caps are now clicker style like on cars. They don't tighten to a stop they just keep clicking

I've put the new style gas cap on an older neck and it fit fine

I had to thread mine all the way through for it to work right just as it says. The first few times I diddn't do it. That is probably all you have to do.

That's what you did in your 2014 super jets or older? To hell if you can do that with mine. There's about 2 and a half threads in the filler neck. You run out of threads... Can't go any tighter there's nothing to thread to lol you'd just strip it if you even could turn it. I am twisting as hard as I can with two hands on this. Billet neck is definitely required... This isn't a usual oem filler neck. They changed them

Definitely a huge plastic nut on the inside holding the neck in.. With some clear stuff that went on before the nut too... Silicone I hope but it isn't quite the right look. I hope that comes off easy lol

Yeah, mines a 2014. I looked at it again it hits the seal on the cap. Not sure what the difference is.

That's really weird... No way does mine have enough threads to sink the cap that deep. It's a good 3/8" from hitting rubber gasket and its out of threads. I ordered the billet neck, screw it
