you just idle all the way in and back out...if there is no one in there than ypou can rail back in...we used to do that when i slalom skied

The fx-1 handles nothing like the superjet. more like a 550. once your used to a superjet it's hard to ride anything else.

trust me i found that out real quick when i jumped on it on saturday

FX1's, in my opinion, were meant to spend as much time in the air as the water. I love jumping with mine, it flies and lands well. I don't get the same pop off wakes with my SJ, and the SJ lands like a tank compared to the FX1... think it has a lot to do with the back of the FX1 hull and it's weight distribution.

I just know when my wife grabs the wakeboard boat, I have to be on the FX1. If not, I regret it every time.

They wanted to build the best ski ever, duh!

Actually I believe it was built for slalom course.

I believe you will be very happy with the tubbies in the surf!
If you come down to Oside this weekend you are welcome to try my ski and see what you think. I cut my other handle pole tonight. I prob won't have that one on this weekend, but mabey 2 weeks. Once this pole is done you can borrow my old one to try a shorter one before you cut yours.

thanks man....i stuck my buddy on it yesterday afternoon...he is coming from a sxi pro and an x2 and he has limited time on a sj...he actually jumped right on and did pretty well.....ill order some tubbies and go from there....he will only be riding it for a few months but by then he will have it dialed and when we finish his sj he will thinking the sj feels like an sxr:biggthumpup:

Ill tell you what last weekend i rode my fx1 for the first time and i also could not stay on it for the life of me. Night and day difference from an sj. I have a mild top load intake grate and a jet dynamics ride plate. I am going to buy a jet dynamics intake grate and i am sending my impeller to impros to repitch it for bottom end. the one i have now is way too aggressive for a stock 61x. I got on one of my friends sjs and i felt like i was standing on a boat. I think once i get used to the fx1 and shorten the handle pole i will enjoy it a lot more in the surf.

let me know how the tubbies work out for you. I love the mobility of this ski. It is so easy to throw around and i dont want to screw that up

I like the jet dynamics grate/plate combo; great for handling, I'm not sure about stabs/rolls; the JD rideplate might be a liability there.

Free mod: there are two threaded holes for your steering cable on the turnplate. There's a 3rd unthreaded hole. Tap it, move over the balljoint and adjust the cable so straight bars = ski going straight. I find I can fall a little less with more steering throw.

Need 2 do: Rip off the stock turf/pads and put in some footholds and hydroturf. A little more room in the tray is really nice, and you get some removing the stock stuff.

JustJoe: I like the way the fx lands too; cushier than anything else but a 550 :) And I love that it generally gets bigger air than a SJ of smaller waves/wakes.

I'm gonna try tubbies and a shortened pole... but I'm lazy; will probably wait for winter.
