Full length footholds?

I've seen countless hulls with footholds and a few with custom footholds. As I was cutting out the curves for some custom footholds I thought...why not extend the footholds all the way to the front?
Not only would this give more versatility of where you can stand but it would offer more stability during riding as your stance can be a few inches wider. Clearly the part at the back would be the primary foothold where you entire foot could slip in and the front half would be enough to get the ball of your foot underneath.
What do you guys think?

Whoops...lol...the right side has an exhaust pipe running down through it. Guess I'll be spliting that side up. I figured that ran at the bottom of the hull.

Think they're Blowsion footholds with custom extensions further forward.

I really like the idea of having a wide tray with footholds in the front. :fing02:

Those are completely custom-made by RMBC. He and I are the only people who have those.

Here's a few pics of mine when I installed them.

Edit: my pics are of the original design with the little cut out at the back of the gunwhale. Neil changed that to be straight like the pic of his above.

I did a staggered design with my fx1....I should have taken the right up a bit further, and brought the left back a bit...

other than that with a front strap I love it! I dont even use the left one though



VERY heavily considering dual straps only on the next build

better check with Neil - I know of at least 2 other peeps that have them. :wink:

I didn't have to reroute the exhaust tube. RMBC's holds fit right in. Didn't even have to dent the exhaust tube in the back where the regular part o the hold is.

On the front part, I would guess you could go at least 2"- 2.5" inches.

If you installed your custom holds, how deep would you cut into the side of the wall, and how tall from the tray would you make it?
