it was tom21's x2 with a stock 750 and a/m 650 exhaust. You guys make it look easier that it is. that thing doesn't want to turn! this one needed more power too (sorry tom) I started to get it to turn by weighting the rear of the ski. should a weight the inside or outside of the ski, it didn't seem to matter in my short ride. I think I'll keep my fixed steering sj but I'd like to bum some more x2 rides.

I did manage to side mount it though. :wiggle:

don't worry tom and I will both be working on carb tuning with both x-2s tom thinks they are both running rich although I will say his sj runs nice .

i weight the rear and lean hard with full throttle, it seems to turn hard and fast this way for me.
i dont weight much thought about 135 if your heavier it prob wont feel the same to you, i also have a grooved plate

Shortened hull and D cut ridplate makes a world of difference.

i havent tried the d-cut but a -2 hull is a completely different x2, it will spin around in a heart beat and the tail seems to stay loose with a normal plate -2
the d-cut might help that

i do inside foot

turn right=weight right side

but its really a balance act, i lean heavier on turn side but still keep pressure on outside

"Shortened hull and D cut ridplate AND TUBBIES! makes a world of difference."

WaveDemon,
Try Legdrags 840 or my 780 at Daytona... Pete's rides nicer, but mine turns REALLY REALLY nice. I cant even ride my stock hull 750 x2 in the surf, it steers like such ass.

They need more power. (Like most skis)
I have ridden one with a stock motor (blegh!), one with a stock 750 motor (not much better), 750 with pipe and total loss (better), and Crab's ski (750 w/pipe, hull work) - much much better. That one was actually fun.

I rode Legdrag Pete's in Virginia....That thing is gnarley. He makes it look easy. That sucker is hard to ride (but fast!). If I remember right he has a ported piped 850 in that baby.

Mad props to his riding skills on that little ski!! :bananalama:
