I recently reinforced under my Sn nose, and you see the two little ears on the left and right under where the bracket goes? I cut those off to make it flush. I didnt cut off the ribs under the nose, i wish i did. Otherwise i think it looks good, i didnt cut my tray out, so i have no input on that part.

biax is strong enough. I wouldn't put carbon in there. I read a good analagy once.

pretend you want to hang your ski from the rafters. you've got one steel cable that can hold 200lbs and no more and you have one bungie cord that can hold 200lbs and no more. if you use both of them to hold your ski up the steel cable will break first and then the bungie will break.

carbon is like the steel cable and the glass is like the bungie.

I have worked with biax, mat, carbon, and carbon/kevlar (and I suck at it), but it seems to me that the c/k is nice and stiff, much more so than the glass.

If it were me, I would put some c/k in there to provide extra stiffness. Won't add hardly any weight.
Of course, I got some laying around, so it'd be easy for me.
Don't go buy a sheet.

thats a shyty analogy!
carbon is way stronger, use it right and you wont have any problems.
just use a big backing plate and youll end up breaking the studs before anything else.:headbang:
