I wouldn't run blended vegetable oil at anything less than 1:20. It's all canola you know. It's what the poor folks would run.
For that 1:1 ratio you need 100% peanut oil.
Might be a bit pricey but it's only money.

I am really interested in running a 1:1 However Im deathly allergic to peanuts....any other suggestions?

With the 515 I mentioned, dont pisss around, torque it up and 15 minutes later (by the time you wipe the excess off). It can sit open for months, but touch the cases close together and you must finish and torque the job!

All I had was 1211 so I'll find out tomorrow after work, I put it on both sides of new gaskets this time... Sure sire hope it doesn't leak this time, because I've shimmed the motor now and did all the electrical in my ski today

Well I had success last night! All it took was 1211 everywhere lol, I hope I don't need to take anything apart any time soon

congrats, you can see how much work it can be to seal and assemble a motor. so it is understandable that when a motor builder does it, he uses 1211 on potential leak areas and then leak tests it and checks squish etc etc. the claimed 1200 dollars may include total spec. inspection of every part, painting of cases, etc. the more you pay a builder to do, the nicer and well built the motor should be. the time and materials for that needs to be accounted for. i know i don't work for free. with that said, a little practice and some learning experiance anyon can become an engine assembler. if you motor doesn't pop in the first 10 min i would say it is going to run for a long time and you shouldn't have to open it up for a few seasons. theoretically. haha. shiat happens so if you have all new backup gaskets and you can now assemble your own motors, you should be able to stay on the water and have a good season. nice job on putting your motor together and taking the time to check things out.

what did it hold at 10lbs for 10 mins or ?

20 lbs 5 min, I know I shouldn't have went that high but there was a small leak, turned out it was my block off plate I made, couldn't find it until I pumped it up and put leak detector (soap+water) the motor is solid

When a builder cuts custom domes they better know the squish when they cut them shouldn't they? I checked my squish and it's .045"
And they already painted my motor, an experienced guy should be able to do it all in 3 hours I would guess, 50/hour plus shop supplies total assembly charge 200-250 would be fair Imo
