Factory type 9 dry pipe

i got this factory type 9 pipe on my stock 701 motor in a moded haul and pump. Is well this pipe be good for freestyle or is it more of a race pipe. I can't find any review one it. I herd from all my friends the coupler blows out often. Is this true? any in put would help. I ran this pipe last year and it had some pos bule 2 ply coupler that riped so I changer to a black 4 ply boost hose but only got acoulpe hour in with the new coupler then blew out all 4 motor mounts. Should I just drop the 1000 down on a factory b pipe?

It was designed to be a race pipe, in regards to your coupler issues, spend the time getting the chamber and manifold aligned without a coupler (adding washers to each different lord mount as needed to get the opening of the manifold square with the opening of the chamber) and they should last a long time. It will require a bit more work on setup and tuning to get it to be reliable and make good power but once you do, it should make more power than a B pipe. If you are just looking for a pipe you can install and never think about again, get a B pipe. If you want to make as much power as possible, it might be worth spending a little more time on that Type 9.

This isn't really a review thread, maybe a mod can move this to driveline or general?
