Factory Kawasaki standup engine sound

This may sound a dumb question, but I always wanted to know this.

The factory racing Kawasaki standups always have had that distinctive sound somewhat like a sport gp motorcycle. I've heard this sound (live) in both sxi pro's and sxr's.

What can give this so distinctive sound?? Maybe a combination of waterbox+dry pipe? Do you guys have any knowlege/specs on this?

probably lots of things done, fully built motor and pipe. if the factory kawasaki team is like the factory teams for motocross they will have parts on there that arent available to public and are built to the sky

a ski built my the factory kawasaki team is prob nowhere even close to a stock engine that they mass produce..those engines are seriously work'd and dont have one stock part on them. hard to say really that specific thing would have them make that sound ya know

Team kawasaki ran in-line silencers rather that the restrictive waterboxes which gave them that wicked crackle. In addition to the one off pipes that Darren Hedlund designed, and millions in engine r&d. Seeing and hearing Victor Sheldons factory sxi-pro during the 98' tour was the reason I went green. They do sound sweet!

I am hoping for a better sound myself. I just ordered the TDR powerspray waterbox for my SXR today.... My boats built nicely but I hate the quiet sound with the stock waterbox...
