Engine relocation

I have moved my engine 4 inches towards the pump. Has anyone else ever done this, and what handling characteristics arose or got better? Doing this has given me enough room to put the battery in front of the motor. Balance seems pretty good just floating. I have not riden it yet, still working on finishing the pole swap. Any input would be appreciated.

kX454 did it. It rode great. I loved it....it Brings the nose up and makes it easier to jump....however, this also makes it more superjetty and porpoisy.

DJ, I am going to mount battery in front of motor and I am hunting for a good h2o box as we speak. How did kx's do in the surf? I am also leaning to shorten hull by 2 inches. I will see on the test run. Now I am in the middle of the RN pole swap. By the way this is the hull I got from Tommy.

also, I will get pics with in the week.

Except one that handles. I wouldn't shorten the hull AND do the engine relocation...pick one or the other. You'll porpoise too much.....

Did you mount your electrical box right to the hull?

Right now I am laying up the electric box in glass, trying to lighten up. Once it is done, I am thinking about mounting above the battery. I will post pics of Ebox once it is done. I could also mount it up in front of tank. My pole will be here tomorrow, hopefully.

DJ, do you still have your stock exhaust, if so , you wanna sell it?

DJ is dead on on this! I had mine old hull shortened 2 inches and the motor moved back 2 inches. It was alright on the lakes but I hated it in the surf. I couldn't get the nose down for anything. That being said - I had my ride plate cut flush to the back of the hull and I bet if it was any longer it would have made it alot better.

Right now my trinity is -2" with the motor in the stock location and its PERFECT

If you have the money and are lookin to lose pounds the FP wetpipe will save a punch like posted above and a trinity hood will save an incredible amount of weight too.

The FP Wetpipe it the best for bottom end. I have on my SXR and love it. No way in hell I would get rid of it. Sorry. lol. Put a WTB add up and see if you can find one.
