SX/SXi/SXi Pro drive shaft help for 750sx with 800sxr motor

SO i have a 750sx hull and im trying to put my sxr motor in it. I had it together last summer and had some problems but could not figure out exactly what. Im thinking my drive shaft may be to short. i have the 750 shaft in it and it seems not to be long enough, but the sxr shaft is to long. Any ideas?

The Sxi pro driveshaft is 1/2" longer than the SXI shaft but shorter than the SXR shaft, you can also use a 550 coupler on the SX driveshaft and cut it down to the length needed to make up the difference

Is the coupler the rubber piece that goes between the drive shaft and the part on the motor? Still new and trying to learn.

Nevermind i figured it out. You think using a 550 coupler would work just as good as a new drive shaft? Im trying to get it done as cheap as possible
