Its kinda hard to follow a malone video, but heres my short 2 minutes of cliped video from riding this past weekend. no need to thank the quality of video or the camera man skills. but i would like you to critique my riding (see me doing anything wrong, point it out, here to learn :veryhappy: ) i'm trying to sub in my stabs and move onto rolls:tongue2:

Good stuff!
To sub the 180, try not to let the nose slap the water. When you jump, dont focus on getting the full 180, try to get the ski "on its side" while in the air. Try to catch the front left rail on the water and keep pushing the nose down. Once you catch that rail, it will help you get the rest of the 180.
Try to drive the nose down, when the pump hooks get on the gas and keep going down!
Check water depth first.

Dunno if that makes sense, hard to describe.

yes infact i do have that picture up at the moment i think it is bad form tho
my a$$ hangs off the back of the ski some and you rotate very slow back there

i recently just learned to stab quicker by throwing my whole upper body into the bars at waist level as im just leaving the wake and then the feet naturally pull with it or you pull them yourself
but you really gotta stress throwing your back into it as well

thanks

Thanks WAB, that will give me something to work on. i figured screen shots would be easy to view and point out bad technique.. It seems like the ski 90% of the time the back end slides out on the landing instead of going nose in, thus ending in a tail stand. so i'll try more weight forward

one thing that really stands out in WAB's session, is row 2 photo 1, hes upside down before the nose even hits the water.. looks like hes shifting his weight in the front left corner apone take of, is this whats getting him upside down? ans if you take a look at my session shots i'm going in sideways:dunno:

His body needs to be on the right side of the pole and he also needs to give more throttle entering the water.

You need to ride harder and faster. (Commitment) IMO:biggthumpup:

i have a tendency to go into the water inverted on my stabs more often than not... that's prbly why in that pic i appear to be more upside down. Just a habbit of mine i guess... I think the old adage... Lead with your head and your azz will follow works...

and, like Yamasaki said... loosen up a bit while riding...

Old, but still ridin'!!!
Just like everyone else said, body position is key in a nose stab.

Can't find any pics of me doing one on the SJ, but here's one from back in the day on the ole 440.

Row 1 Pic 2....... You are on the right side of the pole...... your body needs to be at least centered if not the the left.......... Drop your pole, loosen up your body..................

i know i need to work my way up with speed and height, just working on getting upside down and body in the correct spot.

those look much better..... looks like you are going a good distance from your setup wake, make the turn back shorter...... also you need more speed to "Pop" off the wake.......... keep it up.

ANT

Just ride
your style is a lot better in the second video. do a prejump into your setup wake then do what your doing now off the wake that way you will get more height and more time for your ski to rotate, because now your barely getting any height and your trying to rotate to fast and messing up the sub. go a little bit slower too, and try to put your weight in the back of the ski when your riding around so you can make a bigger set up wake.

Much better get that body on the left side of the pole and gas that motor when you nose into the water that will keep the ski from popping out of the water on you.
