cooling water flow

just wanted to make sure my cooling is hooked up right as it barely comes out of the pisser at all and it used to shoot out of there real fast before I put my pipe on .
It comes out of hull and goes to the pipe manifold then out of the head to the bottom of pipe and out of top of pipe then to stinger and pisser and hand warmers .
I blocked off the pisser trying to get more flow to the hand warmers but it still only trickles out of my handlebars .

Could the input be clogged a little at the pump .
Pipe is brand new in case that's a factor.

I want to run dual cooling this summer and want to do 1 line for motor and 1 for pump if anyone wants to explain how that will work .

As usual thanks for helpiing an SJ newb out:hail:

The parallel DC setup will work like this,

line 1 from pump

Into the boat and into bottom of manifold, fills up cylinder and have 2 exits from the head. These go to pissers.

Line 2 from pump,

Into the boat and into top of headpipe, or bottom whichever way you want to fill the header (i fill from the top)

If filling from top, out from the bottom and pipe into the stinger with restrictor, Tee just before the restricted stinger and take teh Tee off to 3rd pisser.

Sorted

maybe the combinatin of handlebar pissers and the normal pisser is just making the waterflow seem less than it reall is

I did away with the regular pisser trying to get more for the handlebars but it's not as much as Legdrag's .his handlebars look like a water fountain and mine trickle out only at speed :frown:

Make sure your T is hooked up right.

You want the inline part to be going to pisser/andwarmers...the "T" piece to be going into the stinger.

Cooling Routes for Dual

Line 1 From Pump - Manifold - Cools cyclinders and exits threw top of head. Use both exits to keep both cyclinders at the same temp range

Line 2 From Pump - Bottom of B Pipe - Comes out Top of B Pipe - Ts to Stinger and pisser

701 cooling setup.

If you want, you can T the head so they go to a single bypass fitting (psser)

do you have a restrictor or flow control valve before the stinger? you should. itll help on bottom end and flow more water out the bypass(es).

Why do you need a restrictor for the stinger and is that where all my cooling is going ??
I think my T is going staright down to the stinger so alll the water is following the path of least resistance .
maybe it's as simple as changing the T around to make the stinger have to go 90 degree's and have the handwarmers have th straight path :headbang:

Knew it was the problem the second I read it:biggrin:

Damn...I'm just a regular Magoo:bs2:

stinger should definately be on the 90 so the bypass has the path of least resistance. a restrictor will dry it out even more. you could make a simple one by putting a 1" piece of 1/8" hose into a 1" piece of 1/4" hose and insert it into the 3/8" hose between the T and stinger with a hoseclamp holding it in place.

flow control valve works much better.

im not a big fan the setup in the diagram above. youre just wasting that extra cooling water by sending it through the pipe like that. the pipe doesnt require that much water and neither does the stinger. besides, why would you feed your engine with 1 cooling line just to have it come out of 2 lines on the head? doesnt make sense.

ive always ran dual cooling exactly like stock except for one extra line going into the manifold and one extra line going out the head to the pissers.

in fact, if hangtime is running dual cooling and wants the grip-heaters, he could run dual cooling just like i stated and have one bypass fitting from the stinger TEE and feed the grips directly from the head. thats alota pressure.

Thanks SFL .

So a restrictor dries out your waterbox??
I think a flow valve is what I want then .Does Blowsion have them ??

Wasteland - thanks for the tip on the T. I think that is a big part of the problem ,all my water is flowing downhill out the exhaust:frown:

Water temp today was 40 degrees so a lot of pressure in the bars would be a good thing :arms:
