Chopped Rear End Q

I have recently chopped the back of my ski off about an inch and a half and now have the bare hull showing where my chop line is. I am wondering should I seal that up with any sort of epoxy or paint or something, or should I just ride it as is? Also I D cut my ride my plate but didn't cut it flush with the chopped hull. Will that be an issue while I ride or is it pretty normal? Any help would be great

you want to seal up the entire back of the ski with this stuff, it is the bomb, you need a special gun for it but anything else wont really work, this stuff is bullet proof

I would not use the panel bonding adhesive. I used marine tex. You can get it from any marina boat shop and its white, not black.

2nd on the marine tex. Applys like bondo, cures solid as a rock, and is epoxy so it has no problems bonding to smc.

I have SEMed the the backs of 12 or more X2s it's the only stuff that holds up. Yes it's black but who cares it looks fine. Hey but what do I know.

I agree that the sem is good shiat.. Strong shiat, but not everybody had the $75 gun it takes to use it you know. The marine tex is def a easier install and is also very strong if done right. They are both good material.

I'd you own a ski a SEM gun shouldbe in your tool box. I SEMed my trim cable stop in 2 swAins ago and it's still going strong. Cracks in the hull,,, sem! Battery box, sem!
