carb problem

alirght, i have duel mikuni sbn 38 and i pulled my diaphram off and both carbs were full of fuel. i know fuel is not supposed to fill up in that portion of the carb. any ideas on why it is doing that. the needle is attached to the teeter in both carbs.

Which diaphragm are you referring to? There are more than one in a mikuni carb. On the square side, the pulse inlet side of the fuel pump diaphragm should have no fuel. Other than that, the carb should be full of fuel. The diamond side of the carb also has a diaphragm that should be full of fuel as well. Doesn't sound as if anything is wrong with your carbs yet....


I would recommend you read the SBN manual, they have a great description and picture of how the carb works, it might help you find your problem if you think you have one.

Check and clean your internal carb filters while you are looking in your carbs.
