cant get valve body assembly off???

the two screws just wont budge and im close to stripping them, tried heat and penetrating oil. Any idears.

a screw head has rounded in my carb and we couldnt get it out so we put in the screw driver and hit it with a hammer and it came out easy as pie:smile:

Put a bit in the screw head and smack it with a steel hammer, most of the time it will loosen up, if not the drill off the heads of screws and pry up the body off then you can use needle nose visegrips to get them out...

thats the trick, if you don't have one fake it. hit the top of a screw driver with a hammer while turning the screw driver. worked for Ollie and I out at lanier last year with the same problem.

Harbor freight has a cheap little impact driver set that you hit with a hammer. You turn a ring on it to either impact tighten or impact loosen. Pretty much is what wavedemon is talking about.

i have one of the HF drivers too. it was like $5 and works great!

impact driver is a must have tool.

No, no, no it is an inpact SCREWDRIVER! This tool will loosen up all the tight screws on Mikuni carbs AND get them back as tight as they were. Snap on makes one but if you won't use it a lot get a cheap one.
