bilge pump mounting????

hey guys,

got a few questions on dual bilge pumps. first if i already have one mounted near the coupler would it make more sense to mount the second in front of the engine? also what do most of you use for epoxy? and what type of sealant works best for around the bilge fitting?

That is a good question. I will also add a second pump when I put my engine together. I would say put them both on each side of the coupler, that is IMO, and have them shoot on each side of the ski. I say this because the purpose is to emptied the hull as fast as possible and the ski rides with the nose up or at an angle at all times thus making a front placed pump less effective.

thats how im mounting my second pump. to lazy to put in a scupper.

i tried both ways for me the pumps both in back worked better, btw the scupper will evemtualy come up if you not onl;y ride surf and want to do some tricks, its really not that difficult

yeah the ski already has a scupper im not messing around with this one im not gonna ruin another ski because of water in the engine compartment.

I vote bilge brackets only because you never have to worry about redoing the epoxy...Never had a problem w/ my bracket.
