The basic way to make a mold or splash as the industry call it is to have a nice smooth part to make the mold off of, then you wax the part repeatedly ,spray the part with PVA and start laying fiberglass cloth and resin on the part , you will want to use polyester resin because the chances of the mold sticking to the part are minimalized and it dries fairly quickly .
Normally you would want to spray high temp mold gelcoat on the part so it would be inside of the mold when you finish but on a one time use mold I wouldn't do it that way , also if I were making a one time use mold I would lay in some corrugated cardboard , it adds tremendous strength and cuts down on the layers of fiberglass needed in the mold , if you are making a mold that you are making many parts off of you will need to make the mold on a piece of plywood , the goal either way is to make the mold rigid enough that it won't warp and the parts will come out just as the original part was.
