Bed plates for aftermarket hull, aluminum or stainless?

What would you use? Hull originally had aluminum and salt water got between the carbon and aluminum there and corroded everything and caused de-lamination.

so i was thinking of using stainless bar stock in its place, any reason why i shouldn't?

The stainless will weigh a lot more, and will be diffucult to drill and tap the mounting holes in. Stainless does corrode, so it may not be a better choice. Use aluminum, and wrap them in a layer of fiberglass to prevent some of the carbon/aluminum reaction.
