This one's left me scratching my head a bit:
So, I've got a b pipe in my 05 Rius SJ. The other day it was making a pretty horrible tapping noise at low RPM. Looks like it's the stinger hitting the side wall of the hull.
Took out the fuel tank and waterbox (aftermarket ATP waterbox) and spent some time fiddling about with it all, putting extra pieces of hydroturf under the waterbox, etc, to try to get some clearance.
Whatever I do, it looks like the pipe will only *Just* clear the wall, and a bit of riding in chop will see everything shift and the pipe hit the hull wall again.
There are some vertical strengthening ribs inside the hull - I really don't want to, but might I need to grind these back a fraction... is this something others have done?
Any advice very welcome.
