ADA girdled kit - for RIVA girdled head

Does anyone know if the ADA girdled kit (the girdle bolts) will work on the RIVA girdled head?

The girdled bolts for my RIVA head are stripped out, and RIVA no longer sells them.

I might have the same, and I will try and see if my ada kit fits it.

McMaster-Carr sells the partially threaded stainless allen bolts, if that's what's stripped.

what size the the studs?

The girdled size going into the case is M10X1.25 and the allen bolts are M10X1.50 thread size.

The allen bolts holding the head to the cylinder are M8X1.25

The top partially threaded allen bolts that run through the top of the head to the lower bolts that thread into the case are fine, it is the 6 bolts that hold the cyl to the case with what looks like long nuts on the top half of them that the top bolts thread into, that are the issue.

If the ADA kit worked, I would be replacing these 6 lower bolts and the 6 upper bolts, with the ones from the ADA kit.

Not unless you are going to drill the head to accept a 10mm stud, the riva head uses a 8mm stud, just sold a head with girdle kit is how I know. I also have a 1200 non pv riva head on a ski and its the same way.

that looks like the greater yamaha/cool head thing Ive got.

I think he said it above, the holes are too small for the ada studs to go thru.

I dont really see why you couldnt simply drill them out the additional 2mm though.

That will work fine, I would recomend a drill press to get it strait.

I mocked mine up tonight, on my head ( that looks like yours) the holes are already large enough to accomodate the ADA studs.

BUT, I think the thickness of the head might be a problem, its 3/8" or so thicker, so the stud length is reduced by that amount, it might still be enough to work though
