SX/SXi/SXi Pro 750sx not running right help!!!

So, i took my 750sx to the river for the first time today. Over the last few months i took the engine out and cleaned out the hull, and replaced a few things.

heres whats done:
It has all new fuel and cooling lines, and new primer lines. i installed dual bilge pumps, and a new aluminum bed plate. also installed a crankcase block off plate. it already had an oil block off plate.

went out today, siphoned out all the old gas, and then topped it off with a fresh tank of premix. all fuel and cooling lines look like they are in the right places, and water comes out of the pisser when its running.

so i get it to the water and get it started and let it warm up and it starts acting funny. it accelerates very slow, and then out of no where it takes off. sometimes at a decent cruising speed it bogs down and dies, and it seems like its lacking overall bottom end power.

I removed the fuel filter, to see if that was causing it, and it acted the same way it did before i removed it, and i removed the stock air box and filter, and it kinda revved funny when i would hold the throttle steady.

these problems seemed to get worse the longer it ran. I took the hood off after running it for a bit and the engine was hot, but i dropped a bit of water on the head, and on the pipe and it didnt sizzle at all, and water was coming out of the pisser, so i dont think its overheating. when the motor would die the pisser would kinda make a hissing sound though.

anyways, i have no idea whats wrong, im gonna get some new sparkplugs, but i think it may be in the carb. its a stock 750sx carb. any ideas? and tips for cleaning the carb? can you dip the whole carb in carb cleaner? someone please help me!!

If I were to venture a guess I would say its a bad stator, I know it seems like a fuel problem but the two are closely related and 750 stators are known to go bad causing the symptoms you just described, the best test is to replace it with a known good stator.

If you got some cash to spend and it comes down to the stator send it off along with your ebox/SSS to JetSkiSoluitons and they will hook you up with a great deal! got all those re-wired for like 375! they rebuild carbs to!

Usually a electrical problem will get worse as it ride it and will finally quit on you, but I would look more at the coil than at the stator you could just have a spark plug cap thats not making a good connection. Un screw the caps and cut a 1/4 inch off and put them back on, if that does not fix it gap your spark plugs up close to .015 clearance and if it will run there you know you have a electrical problem. If that does not do it take the carb or carbs apart and clean everything and blow them out and make sure you take the screens out and clean them on the pump side, they are usually the problem.

well, i took the carb off last night and took it apart. dipped it in carb cleaner and reassembled it after soaking for about 30 minutes. went to put it back on this morning and couldnt find my small ratchet so i started looking around the inside of the hull for it and found the main cooling line's barb had somehow broken off the exhaust manifold. ran to the hardware store for a new barb and a tap to rethread the hole and got it back together and headed to the lake. so with that fixed, the carb cleaned, and some new sparkplugs it ran like a champ. thanks for the help guys.
