650sx motor into X-2 hull

Well some of you may have seen my thread in the old school forum about my $100 650sx and how I was going to build/clean up. Well I have changed my mind. After reading many threads trashing the 650sx I decided to start searching for a X-2 donor hull to put my modded 650 motor into.

My question is. What all will I need to be able to bolt in the 650sx motor? I know the motor mounts are the same, but what will I need to do about electronics? The x-2 and 650sx have different Ebox's correct? Also could I just make a bracket for my current 650sx Ebox to mount to?

Any tips would be appreciated!

everything should bolt right in...

not exactly everything.... best idea is find your hull see what its got and go from there.

The 650sx coil wires will need to be lengthened and the leads cut, if your engine has twin carbs you will need to remove the side brace on the x2, or run a single carb, drive shaft is not the same either.

the plug wires will be fine. as well as a mount plate can be fabbed easily enough to not make any modifications to his existing equipment.

Ditto, the only thing completely different between those two boats is the driveshaft,my X2 is running an engine and electrical system out of a TS,electrical box and all.All it takes is a little fabbing skill.

guys he won't need all of that, he is looking at buying a complete hull from me. the only thing it needs is the heart and soul form a donor.

Thanks for the replies fellas. I'm almost positive I'll be getting that hull from you Justin. All have to do is get the money together. I shot you a PM on PWCT.

I'm ready to start building this thing!

If you two guys can't get together Justin is welcome to leave the hull here and you can pick it up here.

Thanks WFO!

it will be here waiting on you to bring the motor down and go for a ride.

Yeah, the original owner of my 650sx said that the carb needed to be cleaned or rebuilt. He said it ran fine out of water, which it did when I cranked it, but in the water it bogged or when it had a load on it. Im gonna open it up when I go back home.

I got your PM, so I'll give you a buzz and we can go from there. :headbang:
