Super Jet 650 SuperJet Carb Rebuild ('93), Gasket Order

Hey all,

Probably somewhat of a newb question, but I'm in the midst of my first carb rebuild, ever, and I am slightly confused about which gaskets to include in the rebuild. My rebuild kit for my '93 came with more gaskets than I appear to need, leading me to think the kit works with multiple carb variants.

Problem is, I can't tell from my dis-assembly pictures if the two gaskets install together (and I've already tossed the old ones). Below is the Mukuni guide, showing two gaskets that appear to be the correct ones from my carb. Do both of these gaskets go into the carb in the shown order? I've never seen two gaskets placed over one another (Is one a diaphram and the other a gasket?)

One a side note, are the extremely low, very precise, torque requirements necessary in the rebuild to be accurate? ie, would it be wise of me to purchase a micro in-lb torque wrench?

Thanks!
Paul

The newer SBN carbs have an oring (complex shape) to seal then the black fabric gasket.

The older carbs use a paper gasket instead of the oring then the fabric gasket.

If yours doesnt have an oring groove all around on the fuel pump side surface, then it is the older style.
