I have a 90 SJ 650, ski will run great for the first 15-20min then it will bog down and shut off. It will usually start right back up but has no power. Already replaced the plugs and fuel filter, problem still persists. Any clues? Possible overheating?

Look for an exhaust leak, specifically at the rubber booton the rear of the exhaust pipe.

Found the problem today, went to the lake and it did it imediately when I got into the water so I knew it wasn't an overheating issue. Eventually worked my way to the carb and found the internal filter was clogged up. Put the filter in a water bottle with some mixed fuel and it cleaned it right up. Re-assembled the carb and it ran perfect.
