hi guys, ill tell the whole story
i bought a RN Superjet about 6 months ago, the butcher before me had put a 6m6 in it bored to 701, the cdi on this failed, so i replaced it. this has been fine since about october 2009
next in the time line , i bought a SN Superjet with a 62t in it, which i have swapped over into the RN.
with the 62, i have kept my old CDI, as it had a increased limiter, and kept the coil and regulator etc from the 62t with the 62t.
on my first test run it seemed to go ok,
2nd test run, after about 15 mins it started missing under load- i thought this may be a fueling issue,
replaced spark plugs
3rd test run (yesterday)- ran fine for about 10 minutes- then the same problem. i went back to the trailer and have now ruled out fuel issues by running the ski on the trailer in the water whilst having the fuel return line disconnected from the tank- fuel is running out of here, even at full throttle and full load,
today i swapped over the coil, to the coil i know is good, which was running my old engine.
so 3rd run, same fault occured, but after about 5 minutes.
i now know it is not:
the coil
fuel
spark plugs
i tested the ohms and voltage of the stator whilst cold during the day today, which was all within spec.
things that can still be wrong by my guess-
faulty CDI - again!
faulty Stator
has anyone else experienced anything similar to save me wasting any further time?
