    Blowsion! Thank you!

Yeah, I too have plenty of work to do on mine during the cold season. The trick to keep the nose from subbing while towing, keep a very short rope. You want the SJ to ride on the very top of the pump wash wake.

    Adult Section?

The funny part about this voting is, it looks like most people voting NO are commenting here on how they feel. While most people voting YES are doing it discretely. Just like the people that go to the Adult book store and park in the back :wall: For the record, I voted NO.

    FX-1 FX1 Hulls Weights

Uhhhh :omfg:....if one of them come off (a matter of time with silicone), it will probably do some serious damage bouncing around. Possibly poke a hole through the hull. I hope you ride in calm flatwater :Thinkingof_:

Warning: A post all regarding nothing but the "Bling"

A complete "wrap" job would retail anywhere from $500 to $900. Certainly more than I'm willing to spend for the "looks" department. Especially since I do all my own "cut" vinyl for nearly free. Paul @ www.exoticsigns.com does wraps on cars/trucks/vans all the time. Bahh...I'd just ride it. We...

Warning: A post all regarding nothing but the "Bling"

Why paint when I can hit the "print" button utilizing a seamless graphic. Besides, I didn't spend a month re-gelcoating my SJ just so I can put paint back on it.

Warning: A post all regarding nothing but the "Bling"

Nice pic Boris  I'm not that big on bling but I've been thinking about wrapping mine like a B-29 bomber with rivets, seam panels and certainly a pin-up girl.

little video from today @ the track

The in-car camera is pointing more in the ski than on the track. With the way its shot you don't get the feeling of speed or anything. Maybe next time mount the camera on the halo bar. If the car passed tech, then you (they) should have an approved halo bar....riiight?? :27:

little video from today @ the track

Next time don't point the camera to the ski. Besides, life begins at 1320 and not 660 :cool2: edit: after looking at it again, it does look like 1/4.

    the coolest effin project EVER!

I love the engineering part of it but I wouldn't want it because it looks too delicate for any big doubles or drops. Those MTB tires wouldn't work well in a dirt bike course. However, this would be a blast to ride in Santos or Pisgah (both are MTB only trails).

    bottom hull paint?

Don't skim with epoxy. The reason for the figerglass is to add some tooth for the gelcoat and in my case, for shaping. Added weight will be negligible (I'll guess < 3lbs). Also, its important to be aware that you should not be gelcoating over epoxy resin. It should be polyester resin. Whaler and...

    bottom hull paint?

I'm going to reshape the bottom of my hull and lay 2-1/2 layers of fiberglass over bottom and sides, then will be able to properly apply gelcoat. You really should not be putting gelcoat right over raw SMC. BTW: I stripped old paint then re-gelcoated my SJ with a gelcoat "cup gun." The cup gun...

RN aluminum backing/reinforcement plate under pole bracket

I didn't use any carbon fiber in my whole SJ build. I used 1208 biax and topped it wet with 4oz e-glass. Its black because I used a little black pigment in the expoxy mix...not so much that it was solid ink black, just enough to be translucent black. I made an exact pattern with heavy...

RN aluminum backing/reinforcement plate under pole bracket

Reinforce in specific key spots is all you need to do. You need to foam the void areas underneath then glass over it. I have all the detail pictures showing exactly this in my link below (under Projects > SuperJet RN). BTW: Don't forget to add a little extra layers of glass on the vertical...

    Adult Section?

Sound like a great idea. However, I can also see someone posting a bunch a useless crap just to increase his post count (so they can qualify and make it into the adult section).
