I have used the RIVA and the BCW....I could never tell the difference HP wise, but both of these applications were only in ltd. motors so......
I DO know that I like the BCW over the RIVA..and I sold them both to buy an ATP

we had that situation under control before the CG/sherrif/beach patrol was even on site lol....
a steering wheel puller might work (i think it will), but jsut get a flywheel/H-balancer puller from sears/autozone..
make sure you dont put the 3 puller bolts in too far or you'll jack up the stator..
put a 7/16" socket against the crank when you line up the puller and that'll be the right...
comes off std....CCW
you'll need to put a piece of rope down the plug hole to bind up the cyl..then, hopefully you have air tools..the FW bolt will spin right off
CCW = advanced = more bottom end
CW = retarded = less bottom end/more top end
I always set mine 2-3mm CCW...there are 2 hash marks..one on the stator, one on the cases..

get a mini and strap it to the battery..

the one down-side is that its not recommended if you like to do lots of exteneded WOT runs
for f/s and freeride applications the static timing advance is a MUST..both with an MSD-e and stock electrics
