youre okay with .040" squish if youre not a WOT'er.
if the squish is to small, the piston crowns MAY hit the domes due to the rods stretching at high rpms.
if your psi is 180-190, you wont need VP
even if they share a single fuel pump, one cylinder could be starving due to lack of fuel due to clogged jets or clogged internal fuel filter.
are you getting a good spark on both plugs?
the bad ring on the head..... whats up with that? is the dome fitting loose in the headshell?
stick with the plugs that are recommended for your ski. only use ngk's!
easy way to remember the diff between ES and HS?
ES = extended size
HS = half size
the R at the end means resistor. i dont get the R plugs, even though the manufacturer recommends it. kind of a double standard, i know...
umi makes kawi style couplers for yami motors. you cant just take a set of 440/550 couplers and thread them onto the crankshaft and shortshaft, but then, ive never tried
ive never seen a rod get bent from trying to start a hydrolocked engine. i know it can happen at higher RPMs though. can someone confirn rod bendage from hydrolockage at startup?
did it sound as though the engine was revving very high and loud? if so, you could have an air leak, lean situation, or too high of an idle. it will continue to run w/o plug wires when it out of the water in that situation.
